Trek to Chhatru Over Hamta Pass.

Duration:- 3 Night 4 Days.
Grade. Moderate.
Best season. Mid Jun to Sep.

Chhatru Via Hamta TrekThis trek pass through the Hamta Pass ((4275 mts. green valley of Kullu to barren valley of the Chandra valley of the Lahoul. This was the trade rout of China via Spiti to the Kullu and other parts of the country. From trekking during this trek we can see the spectacular view of Deo tTibba and the Indrasan peaks.

1st Day: Manali to Pandoo Ropa 2700mts.) 6hrs.
The steep part of the trek is about 2 hours to Rahni from The nearby village of the Manali town .it passes through the apple orchards and the forest of blue pine, cedar and oak. After the 5-6 hrs we will reach at the pleasant camp site of Pandu Ropa.

Chhatru Via Hamta Trek

2nd Day: Pando Ropa to Juwara(3530mts.) 5hrs.
The path to Juwara through the Chhika the famous pasture of the local shepherds where the Alian Nala follows from the Hamta Pass. 5 hours steady walk brings us to Juwara campsite.

3rd Day: Juwara to Sheha Gohru (3200mts.) 7hrs.
To day is a long journey of the trek about 7 hrs. we being our ascent up to the Hamta Pass(4275 Mts. Stopping to appreciate the close views of the Deo Tibba and the Indrasan peaks. A long descent follows the trail taking us to right to the camp site of Sheha Gohru(3200mts.) In the local dialect Sheha Gohru means the “A very cold place’ it is a adjacent to the source of glacier. During summer it is a local grazing pasture and the halting place for the shepherds on the way to Lahul & Spiti.

4th Day: Sheha Gohru to Chattru. To Manali (3360mts.)4hrs trekking 3hrs. by jeep.
This walk is quite easy a welcome relief after the previous days trek. We follow the river up to a rock field, a difficult section during the monsoon. The river is forded at a point from where you can see the right across the beautiful valley of Lahoul& Spiti. The enormous mountains of Pir Panjal and Spiti range. dominate the entire land scape until we reach Chattru. After the 4 hrs. then we will ride the jeep to Manali over the Rohtang Pass(3978mts.).
