Sarchu - Hemis - Rupshu TrekRupshu

Best Season: June to September

Day 1: Manali to Sarchu, 11 hours
Journey via jeep.

Day 2: Sarchu to Brandy Nallah, 6 hours

Day 3: Brandy Nallah to Takh, 5 hours

Day 4: Takh to Lun over Morang La (5300 m), 8 hours
A decent climb from Takh to Morang, then to Lun, walk along the river.

Day 5: Lun to Lungmo- Chu, 5-6 hours
Tibetan Nomads inhabit this area.

Rupshu Valley - Hemis TrekDay 6: Lungmo-Chu to Dat, 6 hours
From Lungmo -Chu you will enter into the green Rupshu valley. Then climb to Yar-La (4950 m). Dat village is inhabited throughout the year.

Day 7: Dat to Sorra, 6 hours
There is a small Gelupa Gompa. There are two rivers Datchu & Sorra-Chu.

Day 8: Sorra to Zalung Karpo-La, 8-9 hours
Zolang Karpo La is situated at an altitude of 5100 m. A decent climb from Sorra village to Zalung Karpo La.

Day 9: Zalung Karpo-La to Kongmaru-La
Kangmaru-La is situated at 5150 m and there is a very spectacular summer pasture of Nimaling at 4700 m.

Day 10: Kongmaru to Shang - Sumdo
From Chu-Kirmo trek leads into gorges on two stretches and then to village Sumdo.

Day 11: Shang Sumdo to Hemis
From Shang Sumdo follow the trek towards Marteset Lang, then to Hemis Village and Hemis Monastery. Drive from Hemis to Leh, 40 km.
