Trek Markha Valley

This trek offers very spectacular views of the high passes and and some green part of the barren Ladakh. It ends at the Hemis. There is a very old and the richest monastery in the Ladakh region “HEMIS MONASTRY” in the Hemis.

1st Day: Manali to Sarchu. 10 to 11 hrs.(4240 mts.)
This is full day drive by the surface transportation via Rohtang Pass(3978 mts.). The first of the high passes then down to the Lahoul valley. The land scape changes dramatically , the greenery being replaced by the barren hillsides, where the village with their beautiful fields of Barely, Peas and potatoes.. Then pass through the Keylong, BarachaLacha La (5100mts) to the plain ground of sarchu in the altitude of (4240mts.)

2nd Day: Sarchu to Brandy Nala (4500mts.) 5hrs.
This is the first day of the trek in the high altitude. It can be little hard but courage to climb up gradually.

3rd Day: Brandy Nala to Takh. (4950mts.) 5hrs.
This is gradual climb towards the base of the Moorang La . Walk through the some rocky and grassy paths.

4th Day: Takh to Lun Over the Morang La (5300 mts.)
From Takh to Morang La very descend climb to Morang la. The walk to lun along with the river.

5th Day: Lun to Lungmo Chu. ( 4500Mts). 6hrs.
This the Nomade area. You can see herds of sheep & goat of the locals.

6th Day: Lungmo Chu to Dat. (4700 mts.)
From Lungmo Chu to you will enter into the green Rupshu Valley. Then climb to Yar La (4950mts.) Dat village inhabitant through out the year.

7th Day: Dat to Sorra.(4500mts.) 6hrs.
There is a small Gelupa Gompa ( yellow dressed Lamas.) There is two rivers to cross named Dat Chu and Sorra Chu.

8th Day: Sorra to Zalung Karpo-la (5100mts.) 8hrs.
The Zalung Karpo-La is hight of the elevation of 5100 meters. Sorra village to Karpo-La is gradual climb

9th Day: Zalung Karpo-La to Kong Maru-La (5150mts.)
Kong Maru La is 5150 mts.There is very spectacular pastures of Nimaling

10th Day: Kong Maru- La to Shang Sumdo ( 4400mts.) 6hrs.
From Chu Kirmo trek leads to gorges on two stretches then to village Sumdo.

11th Day: Shang Sumdo to Hemis.(3600mts) 6hrs.
From Shang Sumdo follow the trek towards Hemis. After the reach the Hemis we can visit the famous and the richest monasty of the Ladakh.

12th. Hemis to Leh.
Today is 40 km. drive to Leh
